Before she got dirrty, before she cleaned up her act, before she got married, and had a baby, and paraded her huge veiny post-pregnancy boobs attached to her tiny post-pregnancy body in and out of every LA hot spot she could fit into her apparently not-so-busy post-pregnancy schedule, Christina Aguilera spent her time making sure the masturbatory wishes of oversexed guys and gals worldwide came true (no pun intended). “Genie in a Bottle,” Xtina’s first hit single, reached #1 in 18 countries and spent five weeks on top of the American Billboard charts in the summer of 1999.

Critics of the song were outraged that such a young woman would dare to coo such a suggestive message, and in some markets the lyrics were changed from “gotta rub me the right way” to “gotta treat me the right way” in order to protect the virgin ears (and presumably other parts) of Aguilera’s teenage fan base.

While the video, below, with a midriff baring Christina frolicking on the beach and leading her “friends” in several choppy, uninspired dance routines is pretty much yawns-ville as far as music videos go, the song is destined to remain on Friday night pre-party prep playlists for at least the next 400 years.

Nominated For :
Bring Da House Down

Tour/Performance: Back to Basics Asia Tour (Jun – Jul 2007)

She’s come a long way from her days in the Mickey Mouse Club. Christina Aguilera has run through a whole gamut of musical genres for someone considerably tender of age in the music industry.

She started off with a stable of radio-friendly pop tunes in her self-titled debut album, but steadily moved beyond her peers to a growing artistic development, and musical maturity.

Stripped and Back to Basics, her second and third albums respectively, had Aguilera experimenting with different styles of music such as rhythm and blues, jazz, soul and gospel.

Ditching the sex-kitten image and adopting a more womanly feel, Aguilera has managed a smooth transition “from crass to class”, without once compromising on her incredible vocals.

Besides being awarded her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Christina has been busy with her fourth studio album, only hinting that this time, it’ll be something “short, sweet and completely different” from the previous.

The “tiny girl with the big voice” conquered Asia in her Back to Basics tour, as she belted out hit after hit with aplomb. If you expected dramatic, extravagant costume changes, you got it. If you expected pitch-perfect, powerful four-octave vocal gymnastics, you got that as well.

You can vote at the official website of MTV Asia Awards but I think you have to be registered.

She can sing. She can Dance. And new mom Christina Aguilera can also rock the U.S. presidential election — or, at least try.

Rock the Vote, which aims to engage young voters in the U.S. political process, said pop star Aguilera would help launch the group’s 2008 U.S. public service campaign starting on Wednesday. She will urge people to register and cast their votes in the upcoming election that will send a new president to the White House and senators and congressmen to Capitol Hill.

The new advertisement opens with Grammy winner Aguilera, who has sold over 25 million records around the world, singing a lullaby rendition of “America the Beautiful” to her newborn son Max, who is wrapped in the American flag. She ends the spot with a call “to make history” and “rock the vote.”

Aguilera, 27, said in a statement:

“Voting is a right that we are fortunate enough to have and one that we should not take for granted. I encourage all young people to use this right and realize they can make a difference.”

Along with the Aguilera ad, Rock the Vote’s campaign will include a future series of ads featuring other artists with the messages such as “less ignorance/more education,” “less apathy/more empathy” and “less prejudice/more pride”.

In 1990, Madonna appeared draped in an American flag in a similar “Rock the Vote” public-service video telecast nationally. “Rock the Vote” has used music and popular culture to motivate young people to register and vote in every election since then.

Description: June 9, Christina and family went to a party at Kidnasium in Santa Monica Monday afternoon. Kidnasium is a gym that offers classes, as well. It looks like Max had a great time.
