In the May 2006 issue of GQ magazine, she expressed disappointment in
fellow singer Mariah Carey, saying, "She was never
cool to me... to the point that one time we were at
a party and I think she got really drunk, and she
had just really derogatory things to say to me".
Carey responded in a press release, "I had
hoped that Christina was in a better place now than
the last time I saw her, when she showed up
uninvited at one of my parties and displayed
questionable behavior. It is sad yet
predictable that she would use my name at this time
to reinvent past incidents for her promotional
gain. It is in my heart to forgive, and I will keep
her in my prayers". Aguilera then released her own statement
claiming, "At this point in my life, I do not want
bad energy with anyone. My intentions were not to
upset Mariah with any statements that were published
or taken out of context. I have all the respect in
the world for her." |

Especially during their early years as teeny-boppers, Christina Aguilera and fellow Mickey Mouse Club alum Britney
Spears are being
compared from each other. Though the former claims they were close
before (at the show), it seems
that the public really wants to put a spark between
these two pop princesses. Aguilera, who has proven
many times that beefing with Spears isn't true (by
giving her children gifts, etc.), insists that she loves
Brit
and her music. |

Christina burst out in 1999 with a debut album that
earned her a Best New Artist Grammy and a huge hit
single with 'Genie in a Bottle'. However, she was so
determined to take more control on her 2002
follow-up, Stripped. Aguilera rolled out a raunchy
alter-ego she called X-Tina who writhed around in
the soft-core video for the hit single 'Dirrty'. She
dissed pop-singing peers Britney and Beyoncé in
interviews and frequently found the word 'skank'
attached to her name in headlines. |

As we all know, Eminem has slammed Christina in one
of his songs suggesting that Aguilera was sexually
involved with Carson Daly and Fred Durst. Aguilera
called the comments 'disgusting and untrue'. But Eminem said that the lyrics in the song are
fictional and not to be taken as true. The
two reportedly made peace with each other three
years later backstage at the 2002 MTV Video Music
Awards, where Aguilera presented an award to Eminem. |
