CHRISTINA AGUILERA is set to shock guests visiting her new Beverly Hills pad – if artistic husband JORDAN BRATMAN gets his way. The record label executive was spotted checking out shock artist Cleon Peterson’s latest show at the New Image Art gallery in West Hollywood on Monday (26Jan09) – with a view to filling the home he and his pop star wife bought from The Osbournes with images of rape, mugging and brutality.
One gallery regular who witnessed Bratman’s art interest says, “It was clear he was there to check out Peterson’s The Occupation exhibition, which opened last week (ends23Jan09).
“The artist’s pieces look colourful and interesting from a distance, and closer inspection shows scenes of street violence. It’s quite disturbing.”
“He left the gallery without buying anything, but you could tell he was very interested. Maybe Christina will have to OK his strange choice in art before he buys.”
Caption: Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman dine out at Osteria Mozza in West Hollywood. The diminutive singer wrapped up warm against the chilly LA winter evening with a chunky cardigan and knitted red baker boy cap.
The atmosphere was electric and reminiscent of boxing in its heyday. All the stars and usual boxing suspects were in attendance. Mark Wahlberg, Christina Aguilera, Sly Stallone, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, heavyweight contender Chris Arreola, and Bernard Hopkins were ringside. There wasn’t a spot in the house that wasn’t filled with a rabid fight fan. It was clear from looking around that the reports of boxing’s demise were greatly exaggerated.
As the star of Bravo’s D-List, potty-mouthed Griffin has won back-to-back Emmys. When the stand-up comedian’s reality show returns for its fifth season this summer, she’ll be spending time with some decidedly A- and B-listers: Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin, Rosie O’Donnell, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.
D-List will continue to focus on Griffin’s personal life and tongue-in-cheek publicity stunts. Last season, she decided to make a comedy album primarily to garner a Grammy nomination, which she eventually received, and developed a relationship with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. But this season’s head-turning stars will give D-List a bit of a talk-show feel, says Griffin, 48.
“I get to live in their magical A-list world for a day, but the show will still have the reality element, like my mother (Maggie) with her box of wine,” says Griffin.
For those who don’t know, this song appears in the credits of the movie, “The Spirit”. We had a LQ cell phone recording for the longest and now we have finally have a High Quality version! Thanks to Christina VIP for the heads up. Check it out:
A “wild” time was had by all when Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman threw a party Saturday afternoon to celebrate the first birthday of son Max, who turned 1 on Jan. 12.
The bash, whose theme was inspired by the classic children’s book Where the Wild Things Are, was held at the singer’s Beverly Hills home. Pal Nicole Richie, boyfriend Joel Madden and daughter Harlow, whose big day was on Jan. 11, were among the 40 guests at the casual backyard celebration.
With surrounding trees decorated in festive blue, green and pink balloons, party guests nibbled on kid-friendly food, including mini peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches, catered by Los Angeles-based caterers Along Came Mary. And as a special treat, a source says the party was attended by costumed mythical characters from the book.
